The Importance of Networking Events for Women

Networking has long been recognized as a powerful tool to help entrepreneurs make connections, find support and inspiration, and advance professionally. Despite advances in recent years, women face unique challenges in the business world.

WebNow in its 6th year, the Women’s Networking Luncheon brings together professional and entrepreneurial women from all walks of life for an inspirational afternoon. Attendees share their passions and connect with other female executives in order to build relationships. The luncheon also features keynote speakers and panelists who describe the challenges they faced on their road to success; many have made pitches on CBC’s Dragons’ Den or been listed on Profit Magazine or Chatelaine Canada’s W100 list of top female entrepreneurs.

The Spring Women’s Luncheon was held on March 8, 2017, in celebration of International Women’s Day, and featured Jody Steinhauer, President & Chief Bargain Officer of The Bargains Group Ltd. and founder of Engage and Change. She shared her business story as well as her personal struggles with balancing family and career.

The Fall Women’s Luncheon is planned for November 14, 2017, and will feature special guest speaker Ky Joseph, Executive Vice President at Evanov Communications. She is one of Canada’s youngest female VPs in broadcasting and a recipient of Canada’s Woman of Distinction Award. The luncheon will also feature boutique shopping, showcasing unique products, where participants can get a headstart on their holiday gift-buying. The fall event will be held at the Angus Glen Golf Club in Markham. Registration details can be found online at
